I stayed at El Zopilote for two nights but ended up staying for ten! It's a great hostel located inside an ecological project, offering a unique opportunity to relax in nature. The schedule is packed with free activities like yoga, tai chi, and permaculture classes. The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff, volunteers, and workers are all incredibly friendly. The food is delicious, mostly organic, and grown on their permaculture farm. Don't miss the Pizza Night and be sure to join the Permaculture farm tour!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

We had an unforgettable stay at a rustic jungle oasis surrounded by pure nature. The outdoor showers and toilets added to the unique experience. We enjoyed the free yoga sessions and the vibrant atmosphere with so many events happening at the heart of Ometepe. The staff was friendly and we loved participating in the tour of the permaculture farm. The delicious breakfast and pizza night were definite highlights of our stay. Despite a few minor drawbacks, overall I highly recommend this hotel for an amazing time in Ometepe.

We had an incredible experience at this unique jungle hostel. The free yoga classes were a highlight, giving us the opportunity to start our mornings and unwind in the afternoons surrounded by the beauty of nature. The staff at El Zopilote were amazing, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere with their backpacker vibe. The huts were like cozy little hideaways with comfortable mattresses and a refreshing breeze flowing through. Sleeping in a hammock was surprisingly comfortable too! We loved the lively pizza nights with fire shows and dancing, adding to the fun and memorable atmosphere.
Even though there were a few drawbacks, like the dorm accommodations having only mosquito nets over an open area and the long walk up a hill to get there, these were easily outweighed by the positives. The setting in the jungle felt exotic, and we admired the hostel's use of alternative energy and commitment to recycling.

I had the most amazing time during my stay! The views were absolutely breathtaking and I loved how close I was to nature. The on-site restaurant served delicious vegan and vegetarian options, and the pizza night was a definite highlight. The free yoga sessions were a great way to relax and connect with my inner self. the fact that the food and products were sourced from their own permaculture farm made me appreciate the sustainability aspect.
Although the location was perfect for immersing myself in the heart of the jungle, I wish it had been made clearer that I would have to carry my own luggage up a steep and sometimes rocky footpath. It was quite challenging, especially considering the distance.

Had an amazing time at this unique and eco-friendly place during Christmas. Loved the rustic wooden cabins in the jungle and the outdoor showers. It was so refreshing to be surrounded by nature and have such a unique experience. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, and they offered great guided tours at affordable prices. , loved the delicious and healthy breakfast options they had.
The lack of privacy was a bit of a downside. The outdoor showers and toilets didn't have proper doors or locks, which made it a little uncomfortable at times.
